Voting Season November 2025

Dear reader reader,

I wanted to share the current rankings with you and note that you can change your vote until the polls close on Sunday November 30.

Two members added Turing and Shakespeare to the ballot. Feel free to comment >here.

As a member, you have two votes! And you can suggest candidates. The sooner you get your favorite historic figures into the race, the more likely others will join your ticket. Feel free to leave a comment explaining why you believe your champion should run.

Voting is currently available to Library Card holders of the tiers: Basic, Supporter and Patron. Free members can not vote, sorry. Verify your current membership in your account, and upgrade if needed >here.

Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician known for her work on Charles Babbage's proposed mechanical general-purpose computer. She was the first to recognise that the machine had applications beyond pure calculation and is considered to be the first computer programmer.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is widely regarded as the most influential writer in German. His work has had a wide-ranging influence on literary, political, and philosophical thought in the Western world from the late 18th century to the present.

Emily Brontë

Emily Jane Brontë was an English writer best known for her 1847 novel, Wuthering Heights. Although Emily's work was not widely appreciated at the time of its publication, Wuthering Heights has subsequently become an English literary classic.

Friedrich Schiller

Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller was a German playwright, poet, philosopher, and historian. Schiller is considered to be one of Germany's most important classical playwrights.

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was an American Founding Father and the third president of the United States. Jefferson was a leading proponent of democracy, republicanism, and natural rights, and he produced formative documents and decisions at the state, national, and international levels.

Madam C. J. Walker

Madam C. J. Walker was an American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and political and social activist. Walker became the first female self-made millionaire in America.
